Abstract
This report is going to be on the argument that evolutionists believe that the earth was
created by chance, and the belief God created the universe in six days and on the seventh day he
rested. Christianity (Special Creation) is the belief that God made the earth, and that it was not
just there by chance. The Bible tells us that God created each and every creature, and made them
special. On the sixth day God created the most special of his creations, man. He created Adam
and Eve then put them in the Garden of Eden to live. Evolution is a false belief that was brought
up and made known by the evolutionist, Charles Darwin. Darwin wrote a book called, “On the
Origin of Species”; it taught that all creatures, over billions of years, evolved into new kinds of
creatures. Evolution teaches people that the earth was not created by a god, but that it evolved in
time through natural processes.

Creation vs. Evolution
Special Creation is the philosophy teaching that the earth was created by God through a
period of seven days. God created the earth and every living thing that dwells in it. He created
birds, fish, land, water, and most importantly man! Evolution states the earth was not created by
God, but came about by chance. It teaches that over billions of years different kinds of creatures
evolved and brought about a new kind. The Bible shows that this doctrine is false and that the
earth is not billions of years old, rather it is on thousands. Charles Darwin was a great scientist
who helped promote the theory of evolution. He wrote a book called “On the Origin of Species”
that taught that everything evolved.(2)
This controversy started when the evolutionists argue that creation cannot be true,
because it cannot be tested by the scientific method. (3)Creationists fight back, stating that they
do not take God into account. They also say that evolution is neither a fact nor science, it is a
theory. Evolutionists use the fact that man and chimpanzee have a 98-percent similarity. The
Bible shows us through Genesis 1:27 “God created man in his own image.” This is evidence that
the world did not come from an explosion, yet by God’s handiwork.(3)
Evolution:
Evolution came about when Charles Darwin was traveling across the world. His ship
sailed from Plymouth, England on December 27, 1831. Darwin was studying fossil, features, and
living organisms. He gathered plants and other wildlife to begin his study. He published a book
called, “Journal and Remarks.” This book contained information on geology and biology. With
his information he gathered he conceived the idea of natural selection and made an evolutionary
tree. After twenty-two years of research he publish his book, “ On the Origin of Species”, which
led to an evolutionary up-rise.
The theory of evolution states that in the beginning there was an explosion that occurred
because of the matter and energy (the big bang). This explosion created the earth, and life
occurred as a very simple form and over years gradually formed into man.(5) Today scientists
have searched for any type of real evidence that states that this process actually happened, but
none have been found. They have also found no fossils of any kind that shows the process of
evolution. Evolution is a false belief and is not a “scientific fact”. In order for it to be a scientific
fact it must follow the steps observing, hypothesizing, testing and demonstrating.
Charles Darwin was a young British naturalist who helped popularize evolution. He was
impacted by the principle of uniformity. This principle states that all natural presses have
operated the same throughout all time. This became the foundation for Darwin’s evolutionary
hypothesis. He wrote a book called ‘On the Origin of Species.” The book only dealt with the
evolution of living things. Darwin didn’t bring up any other records of evolutionary proof. The
book also told that all Biblical ideas were false, and instead told that all creatures have evolved
over years.
The most primary evidence for the history of the earth is in the fossil record. Fossils are
the remains of plants, animals, and humans.(3) The study of fossils is paleontology. Normally
when plants or animals die they are decomposed or eaten. For a plant or animal to be fossilized it
must be sheltered from decomposing or being eaten. Most times fossilization occurs quickly by
water and sediments covering them. In the fossil, mostly only the hard bones are fossilized, but
in some tuffs of hair are left. These fossils and sedimentary rocks that contain them provide a
record of sudden death or destruction. Christian geologist have a different view on the fossil
record.(2) These evolutionists think that the fossils of the earth are evidence of evolution. They
believe the fossil record demonstrates the progression of simple to complex forms of organisms
over years. The oldest rocks are the lower layers that supposedly contain the simple form of
fossils. The younger rocks are the upper layers that contain more highly developed organisms.
The layers in the middle are said to contain the simple fossils slowly evolving into the complex
fossils.
Evolutionists use the idea that they found fossils of man in evolutionary stage. Evolution
is a theory that is not scientifically proven, but is used to try and prove the theory that different
species evolve into new kinds. Evolutionists now teach that the first links in the chain of human
descent started at Australopithecus. The most common ape fossil that was found in Africa,
called Lucy, and say that it was a monkey in the process of evolving into a human being. It was 3
1/2 – 4 feet tall. It had a small brain and may have been capable of walking erect. (2)The
problem is that the bones that were found did not look or match a humans at all. Evolutionists
say that the femur had an angle to it, and that monkeys femurs are straight. They don’t say that
other types of moneys have an angle in the femur or tell you that the fossils were actually found
miles apart from each other. Another evidence they use is that they found a fossil head that’s
forehead is different than ours, and is said to be ape-like. (2) After being researched it was found
that there are types of people whose head is shaped that way. There are different species in the
world and mutations can occur, but mutations are changes in DNA, not changes in species.
Homo erectus was based upon bythe finding of bone fragments. The skull fragment is said to be
off of a giant gibbon and the leg bone is supposedly like a modern humans. After research the
skull fragment were the same size of the average humans and the fossils were 100% human.
Another early “link” was a small ape known as Ramapithecus. Evolutionists assumed that he
walked upright, even though they found no fossils of hip or leg bone. Ramapithecus was
supposed to be an ancestor of the human, because it supposedly looked “man-like.” However the
same features were found in other baboons, and was questioned. Finally in the end Ramapithecus
was thrown out of the evolutionary line. (2) Evolving means that we were creatures longer than
