The United states population growth is not as significant as other countries but it is still increasing. Currently, Lebanon in the middle east has suddenly had a large growth in population in the last few years. In 2014, the population went up 9.37% from 2013. Most of Lebanon growing population is from Syrian and Palestinian refugees. The Foreign Minister Gebran Bassi believes the “Lebanon’s existence and identity are at risk as a result of the influx of refugees.” Currently the Syrian population has outnumbered the Lebanon population. The Lebanon population is at 400,000, Syrian is 800,000 and 50,000 Palestinian refugees. (Davies, 2014)
The United states is the only developed country that has most of its increased population from immigration; with 13% of the entire population being from immigration. Even though the United States has a high life expectancy of 78 years old, it is still less than other developed nations. India’s population will continue to increase through 2050 and maybe beyond. Japans population is now to be decreasing due to the low birth rates. Within five years, Japans population has decreased by 1 million people. Japan is currently the only developed nation of sustained and inexorable population decline. (Taylor, 2016)" Even with this decline, it is not 100% probable the population will not grow soon. Even though Japan may be the first developed country to undergo this situation, it is estimated many other countries will follow by the year 2050. (Taylor, 2016)

Climate change is a global problem affecting our ecosystems in a hazardous way. Thus change is already noticeable and can increasingly get worse through our future, affecting current and future generations. To describe Climate change is the simplest way, is the affect of greenhouse gases that are keeping too much of the suns heat in our atmosphere. This is causing higher temperatures in our waters and atmosphere, rising waters and more frequent natural disasters. (Howard, 2015). The gases involved are Carbon Dioxide, Methane, Nitrous oxide and Fluorinated gases. Carbon dioxide is from the burning of fossil fuels, including oil,, natural gas, coal and solid waste. Methane and Nitrous oxide are from agricultural and industrial activities. Fluorinated gases are chemicals emitted from household and commercial use; like aerosols, house cleaners and other chemicals. (epa.org)
Of course these gases are not the only reasons for climate change, deforestation play a major part as well. Bill Nye believes "although we are part of the problem, we can also be part of the solution" (Howard, 2015).
Environmental sustainability is the involvement of renewable resources, non-renewable resources, pollution. Business Dictionary defines environmental sustainability it as "the maintenance of the factors and practices that contribute to the quality of environment on a long-term basis" (Business Dictionary).
It involves the well-being of the entire planet. Sustain means the preservation of human life, the living conditions for humans and animals, and the overall quality of life for every living being.
The biggest reasons the human population is not operating sustainability is the rapid growing of population. Many countries that are not able to contain rapid population growth due to their lack of resources and money can cause rapid population growth. Developed countries like the United States who have the money for these programs but choose not to fund them can start problems later on. Another ongoing issue is the growing areas containing and creating urban sprawl. More reasons are pollution and the lack of renewable energy.
