A Worn Path
When I first read this passage, I began to immediately began to think that she was a slave the way that they described her appearance without even having to read further into the story. It says that she has a rag on her head, her cloths are tattered, which would only lead one to believe such. As the passage goes on, my thoughts of her quickly become unclear.
First off, as she begans to walk on her path she encounters a lot of obstacles that can hinder her from getting to wherever she is heading, but she keeps strong and keeps on trucking. As she is walking, the freezing weather conditions beat down upon her and make her travels that much harder. What throws me off kind of is the way the story is presented in third person, which makes her seem crazy and like she is talking to herself, when in reality it's just her thoughts. While walking the path (with her shoes untied), she is talking to herself and telling animals to stay out of her path (as if they were really listening to her which made me then believe that she is crazy), and she walks through the thorns
