Lewsi and Clark

Dear Journal,

      It’s me again Journal. Yes it’s Clark. I have been asked to go on a expedition with lewis. I am not really sure what I want to do but I have been asked by the president of the United States so I will be going on the expedition. We have been asked to explore the new land that was bought and secure it as our and not Europeans. As you know my name is William Clark and my partner is Meriwether Lewis. This is something I will try to do to my best expense because I feel like I am pretty good at exploring. Ha-ha… thinking of actually helping the president and the citizens is really amazing. That’s was a nervous laugh.

        I have met with Lewis and we have been focusing all are plans on exploring the new purchase and getting to know it. We have been gathering supplies and other major things needed for the expedition and I cannot wait to do it. I am getting excited but I am still getting pretty nervous. I am getting ready for the expedition so I must go for now but I will keep writing about the expedition and describe everything going on

Dear Journal,

        It’s me again Clark and we have started the journey. The journey as I just mentioned has begun and it’s Lewis and I leading ourselves with horses and a map. We are supposed t record new things about the land. New species, plants and so on. We have been traveling a little so far but we are very curious of the new things we think we are going to find but we have to wait. It is night time right now so we aren’t doing anything right now. We have a few horses that are being used for traveling and supplies. Lewis has lost some horses. They have just disappeared. Anyway, it’s dark so it is hard to see anything but I guess it doesn’t matter since we are kind of lost. It is ad to admit we are lost but we are, we have to find the river but it is really hard to find them. We have seen some new species and plants and have been recording them in our book. It has been going pretty well with the animal and plants but the major goal was to explore the land. We have been practicing for situations like this so we are prepared. Then again… we can never be prepared for something new and weird like this journey but never less we will finish it. Lewis is telling me to get some sleep so good bye for now.

        Dear Journal,

        It is morning again and I cannot wait to start exploring. I woke up and saw a big horned sheep. I was scared I will admit but I was able to fight through my scare. Ha-ha Lewis was laughing at me for 10 minutes so I kind of got mad. Anyway we are traveling and met this Women name Sacagawea who is a mother of a baby. She has decided to help us without exploration with her baby!!! She also had a dog with her which I felt was ok as long as it didn’t interrupt us in our journey. She is a woman who lives around here and has decided to help us without journey. We are very excited to have her with us because she is very smart and understand the valleys and the land were are exploring

        It has been about 2 hours before I have wrote anything and I am happy to say we have been making progress thanks to Sacagawea who has been so kind and helpful. We ran in trouble with some people but she talked to them and they even helped us with our expedition. I have to go but I will keep writing

Dear Journal,

        We have been traveling and we have learned about 20 new species which is really amazing because it is amazing how different the animals are. We saw some different animals multiple times so much. We have seen a deer about 90 times and we have counted them the whole time. So far we are camping in a river and recording new things we find. We had to travel the river but we don’t know how to since we do not a have a boat to use. We weren’t expecting to have to cross a river but we are faced with this task. Sacagawea has helped us figure out our map and find a good route we can report to Thomas Jefferson. We haven’t seen anyone who is really hostile about us exploring the land or anything but there is a few people who have stared at us weirdly. I have been really interested to cross this river because I want to make a map that shows the land that isn’t going to be able to be explored by other people after we are done. Anyway I must be going but I will continue writing.
