Journals the Topic of Abortion

This week, we began the topic of abortion. It is a sensitive subject in today's society, and unfortunately all to common among pregnant women.
Abortion is the act of terminating the life of an unborn child, or in some cases, an already born person. Even though the Catholic Church teaches against abortion, people still commit the crime. They justify this action by saying that they are not ready to have a child, or they will be unable to properly take care of the child; which is a federal law. The church has rebuttals to all of these arguments.
People cannot use these excuses, because they always have the option of adoption. Adoption is always better than abortion, no matter the circumstances. However, I do see one rare exception to this. If the pregnancy is considered a "high risk" pregnancy, where the life of the mother is severely in danger and the baby has a slim chance of survival, abortion may be an acceptable option. Going back to the previous statement of adoption, there are always families looking to adopt children. Whether they just want to help a child in need, or are unable to bear children, the need for children for adoption is most always present.
