Green Seal is a non-profit Organization. It works with state and local governments to attract more people to get their certified. They have two hospitality standards which is GS-33 and GS-46. GS-33 is the standard for Hotel industry and GS-46 is the standard of lodging property. Their main purpose is helping government improve environmental and Economic. According Green Seal's official website, they have seven objectives achievement including, decreasing greenhouse gas emissions, saving energy, conserving water, reducing solid and hazardous waste, reducing exposure of workers, residents and visitors to toxic chemicals, educating the local workforce about environmental impacts and benefits and supporting green building programs, attracting green conventions and tourism. If I become a manager of the hotel, I would like to get their certificate for my hotel. They offer three different level of certificate with different standards which is level of bronze, silver and gold. I prefer the gold level. There have several points we will be achieve including waste minimization, energy efficiency, conservation and management, management of fresh water, waste water management, hazardous substances, and environmentally and socially sensitive purchasing policy. Also, we will have the plan of continuous improvement and to be the member of energy star, LEED and Green- E.
Energy star is a program by the U.S Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S department of Energy. They offer the way to save money and protect the environment through their product. There have three commitments we have to agree,
