- STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The purpose of designing a data flow diagram for GameOn is to simplify the understanding of the storage and flow of data between different processes.
- BUSINESS ASSUMPTIONS
- There is a probability that the customer may not provide complete information or information with no valid proof. In that case he will be notified with incomplete application message.
- If the requested Game item is not available in the inventory, customer will be notified with Re order message. It implies that the customer can order a different item in exchange with the item not available.
- The Game inventory will be updated each time the video is rented or returned.
- The timestamp will be recorded for each customer using their rental card number each time the video item is rented which will help in processing late fee.
- If the customer returns the game item late, he will be notified with the late return cost he has to pay the next time he rents a game item.
- The due date to return a rented game item is one month.
- DATA SOURCES MEANING
- D1 Customer Record: It maintains the customer rental card number, customer information, rented and returned game information, timestamp information and payment details
- D2 Game Inventory: It maintains the inventory maintained for video items to be rented. Data will be update by rented and returned game item information.
