  1. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The purpose of designing a data flow diagram for GameOn is to simplify the understanding of the storage and flow of data between different processes.

  1. BUSINESS ASSUMPTIONS

  1. There is a probability that the customer may not provide complete information or information with no valid proof. In that case he will be notified with incomplete application message.
  2. If the requested Game item is not available in the inventory, customer will be notified with Re order message. It implies that the customer can order a different item in exchange with the item not available.
  3. The Game inventory will be updated each time the video is rented or returned.
  4. The timestamp will be recorded for each customer using their rental card number each time the video item is rented which will help in processing late fee.
  5. If the customer returns the game item late, he will be notified with the late return cost he has to pay the next time he rents a game item.
  6. The due date to return a rented game item is one month.
  1. DATA SOURCES MEANING
  1. D1 Customer Record: It maintains the customer rental card number, customer information, rented and returned game information, timestamp information and payment details
  2. D2 Game Inventory: It maintains the inventory maintained for video items to be rented. Data will be update by rented and returned game item information.
