1. What is FAIR and who funds them?

FAIR is a national media watchdog group. They document media bias and criticism of censorship. They highlight the stories other news agencies fail to report while supporting journalists who have been silenced by other media outlooks. FAIR works to establish an independent public broadcasting outlook and promote a strong non-profit source of information, by breaking up the larger media conglomerates.

2. Under “Issues & Studies” choose an Issue and then one entry under that issue. Read the transcript and summarize the main points in 4-5 sentences.

The issue I read about was under ageism. The article was “Talking About My Generation–So We Don’t Have to Talk About the Rich.” The article was written in a response to an article written by Cannon Gibney. Dean Baker provides a counter argument on crime rates, debt of college, pensions and monopoly which Gibney blames baby boomers. His belief that baby boomers have ruined the economy isn’t so cynical. Baker believes that there are multiple forces at play with not a single group of people to blame.
