ABSTRACT

TPL Corp LTD. has given Institute of Business Management the responsibility to devise HR Learning & Development Dashboard of their organization. The need for dashboard was highlighted as increase in training sessions of TPL Corp. The report contains the contents of how the dashboard are devised based on primary and secondary research and amended according to the suitability of TPL Corp. The primary and secondary research highlighted best practices followed by both local and international organizations regarding learning and development. The L&D Dashboard contains a measurement system for TPL based on benefit to cost analysis. In conclusion and recommendations it states that dashboard implemented in the HR L&D will provide a proper structure for trainings and help to ensure proper record visualization of trainings in the organization. The higher management has a responsibility to review and revise the dashboard fields according to the changing environments. This way TPL HR department will achieve its objectives successfully and effectively.

  1. INTRODUCTION

  1. Introduction of TPL Corp Ltd.

TPL Corp Ltd. is the investment holding company of the TPL Group with investments across the insurance, real estate, transport, security, technology, vehicle and container tracking, navigation and mapping solutions and financial sectors. Under the new structure, the business of TPL Trakker Limited has been bifurcated and separated into tracking and digital mapping businesses. TPL has made the decision to restructure its business due to fast paced growth and increasing diversification of its business portfolio.

Vision Statement:

TPL Corp Ltd. aims to maximize share value by being the top class product and service provider and take eminent position in the general market. It ensures to seize opportunities for profitable growth to generate value for stake holders.

Mission Statement:

We at TPL Corp Ltd. are committed to creating and delivering innovative concepts for our customers. We want to make a positive contribution by providing products and services that utilize cutting edge technology and are backed by customer service that delivers.

1.1. INTRODUCTION OF CAPSTONE BUSINESS PROJECT

TPL Corp LTD. handed our university the project to design Learning and development dashboard. The company does not have currently active training dashboard and the need was highlighted in the initial meeting with company.

The company requires the dashboard to entail best local and international practices, should be made accordingly to the norms and trainings occurred in the organization.

 A graphical presentation approach towards training is designed by collaborating with team LMS , to create a dashboard that would introduce a new emphasis on metrics, indicators and measures to ensure operational effectiveness of the company.

1.2. PROJECT OBJECTIVES

               

 To enable the objectives to be achieved by company our project focus on following deliverables:

      Project deliverables:

           To design and creates real-time dashboards to track the amount, quality and cost of training across business units for TPL  Learning & Development to quantify following indicators and measurement:

  • Create Productivity Matrix for company (metrics including sales, profit, performance/ productivity figures, efficiency savings and quality measures as well as behavioral and cultural indicators)
  • Identify Cost per trainee that is incurred in planning and executing training
  • Identify number of people trained each year.
  • Ratio of HR
  • Calculate HR budget spent on training.
  • Calculate ROTI
  • Capstone team will develop a menu card for TPL for display requirements.
  • Form a model for ROTI and integrate into dashboard
  • Channelize learning needs to operational effectiveness.
  • Identify training and development needs and interventions that support employee development in the context of the TPL’s strategic objectives and budget
  • Scope, develop and deliver training and individual and group development programs in response to client and market needs

Training Completion Matrix:

A matrix of each customer staff trainee cross-referenced to the types of training completed, with completion indicated by the date of completion.

· Evaluation Results, including:

  1. Evaluation Data Summary

  1. Summary of evaluation data, (e.g., post-test results).
  1. Analysis of Evaluation Data
  1. Comparison of the evaluation results to the required evaluation criteria.

Additional action must be taken to correct problems, if required, (e.g., modification of training materials and/or approach).

Dashboard scopes will be limited and relevant to training record provided by TPL Corp LTD. for TPL Trakker and TPL Insurance only.

  1. Project Outcomes

  1. Detailed and comprehensive Learning and Development Training Dashboard in MS Excel to track the amount, quality and cost of training across business units.
  2. A measurement system for TPL based on benefit to cost analysis.
  3. A measurement plan to determine the success and ROI of training. The plan’s components provide a roadmap to address complex corporate training environments in which large numbers of courses are delivered to thousands of learners.
  1. Literature Review

Human resource Management is a contemporary term used to describe the management and development of employees in an Organization. It is also referred as talent management or personnel management. It involved overseeing all things related to managing an organization’s human capital. It has gained importance with the concept of effective human resource as key component of organizational progress towards achieving its goals. Such management practices are endorsed by notions such as motivation, productivity and organizational behaviors.
