it was Oct. 24, 2002 and David Chauner, CEO of Threshold sports, looked at the racing road bike in the corner of his office. It had been several days since he had had time to go on a ride, and he was eager to get outside for a spin. Ever since the beginning of June, when Threshold Sports had kicked off the 2002 Pro Cycleing Tour seasonwith the First Union Series in Philadelphia, Chauner and his team had been running full speed ahead to ensure the summer schedule operated without a hitch. That left little time for riding.
