To me the biggest mistake was made by FEMA. That was, not immediately turning to the military.They immediately did turn to the military and mission-assigned them to start doing airlifts, start bringing things in. The mistake that FEMA made was not doing that sooner and not giving them the orders that we needed them to do all of that immediately. In the wake of Katrina, FEMA did not responded quickly and sufficiently to assist the hurricane's victims.It is very important to look at social life from different level of analysis, because it provides a different way of social interactions. It analyze societies both in interpersonal ( micro level ) , and widespread global level( macro level ). through these level of analysis we are able to see the links between what people do and the social things that shape their behavior. The social perspective enables us to analyze and understand both the forces that contribute to the emergence and the growth of the global village and our unique experiences in this society. In hurricane Katrina, the residents just wanted help. The state government was concerned about its constituents, but was looking to the federal government and FEMA to step in and take over. However, the federal government was not looking to take over but to provide whatever resources necessary to help the residents. each group was looking at the same disaster but each having different priorities in how to solve the crisis
Question 2: the local government, including the mayor was part of the micro level because they were already present during the time of hurricane Katrina and knew personally of those impacted or knew the impacted through the families an friends
The state government, including the governor Blance was part of the mess level, although not in new Orlando, they were connected with the local government through existing connections discuss needs and issues that were going on in the real time
The federal government, including president bush and FEMA, was a part of the macro level. They have been responsible for a broad array of activities before and after the storm

Question 4: A disaster like Hurricane Katrina, although infrequent, may require financial institutions to implement their disaster recovery plans and to improvise creative solutions to address unforeseen difficulties quickly. You may want to reassess how well your institution is prepared for reasonably foreseeable threats across all levels of the organization, not just from the perspective of recovering your information technology.
