Synopsis:Tales Of Old Japan-The Mujina(faceless ghost)
There's a road named Akasaka that runs through Tokyo. The road is heading to a small hill and there is no houses along there. A high wall runs along one side of the road. The wall is the wall of a great palace and on the other side of the wall there are the palace gardens. Long ago the road was lonely and dark at night and there is no street lights at that time. People are afraid to use Akasaka road because a mujina lived there. The last person sees the mujina was a merchant from tokyo and he died thirty years ago. One night the merchant was running up the hill and it was already late in the evening and he is a little frightened. After half-way of the hill the merchant sees a woman infront of him and she is sitting beside the road. The woman was sitting beside the road and crying alone. The merchant felt afraid for the woman. So,he went nearer to the woman and he saw her clothes were expensive silk clothes and her hair was tied carefully. He thinks in his mind that the woman is from a good family. The merchant tried to calm her but the girl keeps crying and she did not even look at him. She seemed to be drying her tears from her face. The merchant tried again to calm her this time he got her stood up but she stil not answer him. She did not turn and look at the merchant. She just turned away and keeps crying. The merchant softly touched her on her shoulder. When he touched her, she turned around. Her sleeve is still on her face so she rubbed her face for a while and then she put down her arm down and the merchant is shocked when he seesthe woman is faceless!. The merchant filled with fear and starts running from her. After he thinks that he is far from the woman.
