Mama says, "Stupid is as Stupid", the words of the famous Forrest Gump as he discusses his long and exciting life adventures with a stranger while waiting for a bus. The story of Forrest Gump was written by Winston Groom. Winston Francis Groom, Jr., is an American novelist and non-fiction writer, best known for his book Forrest Gump, which was adapted into a film by Robert Zemeckis in 1994. The filmed aired July 6, 1994 and is still touching the hearts of Americans today.
Forrest Gump disability was not exactly established in the movie, but his IQ during childhood was 75. On an IQ scale this considered below average which made Forrest have a mild retardation. When Forrest mother tried to get him into a regular school, the principal told her that he has to go to a special school because the state requires students to have an I.Q of at least 80. Forrest mother would not take no for answer because she always treated her son with love care, and always reassured him that he is normal and do not let anyone tell him he is not. She did what she had to do in order to get her baby into a regular classroom.
"From that day on me and Jenny were like peas and carrots", says Gump telling about his best friend he met on the bus. On Forrest first day of school he rode the bus and no one would let him sit on their seat, but this one young lady named Jenny, which is the love of Forrest life. When Jenny first met Forrest she was being sexually abused by her alcoholic father and this caused her to spiral out of control in her older years, but not Forrest. Forrest graduated high school. While Forrest was in college two young blacks wanted to attend, but all of the whites were against, but not Forrest. He even picked up the young lady books as she walked
