The patients who visited Shouldice were generally nervous, were tensed and had anxiety about their surgery. Patients suffered from various common problems like over-weight, bad heart conditions etc. Patients who shared the rooms generally had similar interests, jobs and had the same background. This helped them feel freer, and relaxed pre and post operations. Furthermore, they were generally operated on the same day in the same time. All the patients also had dining areas which allowed the entire crew to share their experiences, old and new and were generally male. They were made to do exercises right after being operated to help them recover better and feel motivated that they were operated successfully. The patients did a great deal by advertising the Hospital by word of mouth, which led to continuous capacity expansion and yet more waiting's for consultation and surgery. The entire experience made most of the patients
