Animal Testing

Should animals be used for scientific research or to test cosmetics in which benefits human?

Introduction:

This topic is a controversial issue for many people. Animals are being used to test out beauty products, medicine and more just to benefit humans. These items that the animal involved has no direct benefit to them. In 2014 two reviewers wrote about the publics attitudes toward testing on live animals. Their results showed that those who were opposed to the idea focused on the welfare of the animals and the suffering these creatures had to go through, whereas scientists view on the benefits and lack of other resources to using live animals.  In the following essay with more research, I will provide more facts on this issue from my side and the opposing side

Position Statement:

It is unethical to use animals for testing because they suffer during these tests.

Supporting Reason:

My Position is that all animals and humans are equal as well as the suffering of an animal is morally equal to that of the suffering of a human. These poor creatures should not be a tool for humans to feel beautiful with make -up or any hair products. I believe that if a person wants to wear make-up, then it should be a human that the product is tested. There are so many chemicals that go into making cosmetic products that can burn an animal’s skin. When I do buy make-up, I always look at the label just to make sure it wasn’t tested on animals. This is an unethical act to harm them for a selfish non-important product.
