Dear Mr. XX xXX,
My name is Ms. XX XX, and I’m the owner of Chocolate Europa Land. Chocolate Europa Land is a family run chocolate boutique located in XX XX. We offer a wide selection of luxurious European chocolate. Since our opening in 2015, we’ve been partnering with European chocolate houses including Hotel Chocolat, Leonidas, Confiseur Läderach AG, Amedei, and Teuscher.
In the United States as well as around the world, Neuhaus is known for its luxurious and exceptional pralines and truffles. We hope to expand our menu with high-quality Belgian chocolate like Neuhaus for our European chocolate-loving customers.
I will be visiting Brussels next week to attend the chocolate tasting workshop Neuhaus is organizing at the Koninginnegalerij location. I am delighted to learn that as the international cooperation manager, you will be opening and closing the workshop.
I'm looking forward to learning more about Neuhaus as well as seeing you Mr. XX.
Sincerely,
Ms. XX XX

Thus, it’s difficult to assign an all-embracing identity to all Belgians, I’ve avoided using any French, Dutch or German titles lest I offend Mr. Linens personally or Neuhaus in general.
According to Hofstede insights, Belgium scores 94% on uncertainty avoidance. That is Belgians feel menaced by ambiguous situations. They are utterly prudent. It takes them time to build trust with others. One would assume that such a high index on UA would also indicate that Belgium’s contextual communication to be quite low. However, it’s more complicated than that. Belgium is a low context country. Their communication is based on nous and reason. However, according to the Belgium Guide article, Belgians fancy subtlety over directness believing subtlety as an indication of intelligence. So it’s been quite challenging to incorporate some high context elements in an overall low context letter.
