“I Am Malala” Book Report
“I am Malala” is a book written by Malala Yousafzai. The cover of her book is like that of any other autobiography, a photo of the author, the title of the book, and some cliche quote or phrase that attempts to grasp the essence of the publication. The phrase branded across the bottom center of the cover states “The girl who stood up for education and was shot by the Taliban”. The phrase implies that this book will be only be about her fight for education, and heinous assault, when in reality it entails so much more. Malala’s purpose for writing this was not to give a detailed account of her misfortune, but to give a detailed account of where she comes from, who she is, and her people. She succeeds in all of these reports, as she always writes about real life situations from her perspective, without being swayed by outside forces. Malala also uses dialogue to shape the reader’s perspective into one similar of her own, as well as foreshadow future events.

I have written another poem named “The black woman is the nigger of the world”. Throughout the ballad I define every term with dictionary definitions, and synonyms. I found that each definition held heinous, but every synonym bared strength. It was as if I was being told that I was less but, shown that I was more. Malala captures the same confusion when she tries to distract herself from thoughts of the Taliban by reading Stephen Hawking’s “A Brief History of Time”. She states that the book answers major astrological questions in which changed the world of science, then goes on to say “We Pashtuns know the stone of revenge never decays, and when you do something wrong you will face the music. But when would that be we continuously ask ourselves”. She is inquiring on how humans can
