Huffman Trucking has grown in to a multi-million dollar trucking company. This has taking 60 years to get to a point now that they need databases that can help keep track of fleet maintenance. Huffman Trucking is a trucking company that purchase and absorb other smaller trucking company. With over 1,400 employees, 925 drivers, 425 support personnel and having a fleet of vehicles, cars and service trucks, By having a databases that can track large group of information. This can include technical mains, parts used parts on hand, venders used and they information, and parts inventory information, parts catalogue information. History of parts and supplies punchers, the database will have the history of all equipment's. This
This database will save money be having everything in one place which will give ease of access to technicians as to what was fixe before and by whom. Such maintenance information will include equipment type, type maintenances and work orders.
In Conclusion
The database will reduce cost across the line by reducing redundant information being entered by different people. Also the record keeping will improve by allowing the databases to control the cost of the parts, labor and other factors like better records keeping, man power and time. This will keep cost down and keep the budget on track.
Introduction
With 1,400 employees this includes 925 drivers, support personnel and a fleet of 800 tractors, 45' trailers and other unit's cars and service trucks across America, This has giving them a chance to benefit with a close relationship with the U.S. Federal Government. During WWII the shipping between the manufacturers and ports increased business. Huffman was able to purchase and take over several other trucking companies. Huffmen became one of the biggest privately held transportation company nationwide
By hiring the consultant company to design the databases that will enable Huffman Trucking to organize, track the fleet better, but will have to still define the databases table. The consultant company has listed eleven entities that will be included in the databases, there are maintenance type, Maintenance Descriptions, vehicle Descriptions, vehicle identified, Work order number, Driver reporting problems, Time and Date of problem, Parts Inventory Add To Stores, Inventory Issues, Parts Vendors, History of parts Purchase and Maintenance history on the Vehicle , location of repairs or maintenance done.
