Analysis of Honda Motorcycles major resources and capabilities are broken down into 2 categories:
1. Technology advantage.
Unlike Harley Davidson, Honda is continuously doing research to find and create the most advanced technology to improve performance, comfort, and reduce the cost of their bikes. Most recently Honda's technology upgrades have shown a major competitive advantage over Harley by introducing a more fuel efficient motorcycle. Considering, Harley Davidson's bikes are known as fuel guzzlers, Honda has positioned itself to overcome a deficit in the market share by implementing these economically friendly bikes. (Joan, 2013)
Furthermore, Honda provides a more diverse culture by producing and manufacturing motorbikes, automobiles, power equipment, robots, solar cells, mountain bikes, and ATV's. While Harley Davidson concentrates mainly on Motorcycles and apparel. Moreover, Honda provides a much larger selection for its consumers in the motorcycle section. Having the resources available Honda can produce every type of motorcycle cheaply and efficiently allowing for consumers to have a wide variety of choices when buying. (Joan, 2013)
2. Mass production capabilities.
