My Reflective paper on CSS101

I have learned so much in the last 8 weeks. In week 5 I found out that my learning style is visual. Knowing this has already helped me a lot. After reading some ideas on things that would help me academically, I tried a couple of them as soon as I could, and it was so helpful. I wish I would have known this information 25 years ago.
The first study tip I used was using different colored highlighters for different types of information. I used them on all of the APA style notes. It helped me so much. Mostly it helped me find the information I would me looking for much faster.
The study tip I found to be the most beneficial was mind mapping. I used this study tip when I wrote my post to the discussion board in Unit 8. Because I needed to choose 3 skills that I learned in CSS101, and then I needed to branch it out and explain why these were important to me.
The hardest subject when I was in school was always English for me. Now that I know my learning style and know the study tips I would use the different high lighters for different types of information when studying English. The subject I liked the most was Math and I don’t think I would use any of the study tips when studying this subject because just writing the problems out was always enough for me to understand it.
My goal is to get my AA in Business Management. I know that I will eventually need to take Micro and Macro Economics. These 2 classes are part of the reason it took me so long to start school. But having the study tips will defiantly help me. I am going to be using the mind mapping study tip in these classes for sure.
I found so much of what I learned in CSS101 interesting. If I had to choose only one of them it would have to be plagiarism. I found it interesting because I had never heard of it before. I also found it interesting that you could actually get criminally charged with a misdemeanor for doing it, and there ae so many different ways you can plagiarize. I found a lot of plagiarism checkers that anyone can use for free. I also found self-plagiarism interesting. Self- plagiarism “occurs when an author repeats text that has appeared in previously published articles.” (Blackwell, 2014, vol. 24 issue 3).
