My main core belief is making the world a better place. By making the world a better place I am essentially leaving a lasting impact on the world. That can ripple throughout the world. And have an effect that will still be there even after one is dead. Seeing people’s lives or the world improved gives a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that is difficult to equal. Tutoring homeless children or giving life advice to friends or giving donations to charities that help people are examples of this. Although these things may be small and I am not an exceptionally rich person I can still do little things that can have in my mind vast impacts. Mentoring a person to be someone better or to put them on a better path which is one person but it is one person who will interact with hundreds if not more other people and hopefully in turn impact them in a positive manner.
I have gone to homeless shelters and tutored homeless kids. These children don’t have a permanent home. They generally don’t have a lot of successful or well educated people in their lives. I remembered I tutored this girl in math. She had wanted to become a veterinarian. I told her veterinarians need to get through at least basic calculus. I told her she could do it if she worked and it gave her some hope for the future. She was a bright girl but she just didn’t receive the time or attention
