The Commonwealth of Virginia is also known as Old Dominion, Mother of States, and Mother of Presidents. Its capital is Richmond, an important city in American history. The abbreviation for this important state is VA. This state was very important in the Civil War. It had a very big change in the Reconstruction.
Virginia became a state during June 25, 1788. The state has many famous people tied to its history. For instance, John Wolfe is very important. So are Robert E. Lee, George Washington, Ulysses S. Grant, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, and many more. There also are important events in its history. Secession and the Civil War are just some.
The state Virginia is now a state in the United States of America, and the Confederacy no longer exists. It has a population of 7,078,515. It is in the Southeastern region of the United States. The weather there during winter is in the 40’s and in the weather during the summer is in the 80’s. This state borders West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and North Carolina. Also, this state borders the Atlantic Ocean.
In Virginia, there are many ways to earn money. Virginia produces lots of livestock. There are also greenhouse products. Cotton fabrics are produced like how it was during the 1800’s. There is tobacco produced there too. Coal is mined there too. For fishing, crabs and oyster are plenty.
