Section II: The Interview

1. James applied to 3 colleges: Valencia, University of Central Florida, and University of South Florida. Valencia and University of South Florida accepted him. He said he would not change what colleges or which colleges he applied to. It was all perfect for him.

2. Valencia interested James because it was affordable and the credits can carry over to UCF when he switches over. He said Valencia was his first and final choice.

3. To pay for college James has gotten loans and scholarships and he has had to fill out lots of applications from different places to get them.

4. James' favorite class is Hospitality Management. The class is all about learning how to be an effective manager in the hospitality industry by applying management theories. The students are taught how to work with peers, superiors, and customers.

5. A typical day at college for James is fairly simple right now. He wakes up in the morning, goes to his classes, and works for the rest of the day. Some days he doesn't have to work so he reserves that time to study or have some fun.

6. According to James his first semester was a bit confusing and stressful. He wasn't fully ready for the transition to college but with the help of some friends he got on board fairly fast.

7. James managed to balance out everything by taking mostly morning classes so he could have the afternoon for all his studying and work.

8. Three pieces of advice James would give to incoming freshmen is to join clubs, get involved in organizations, and don't party a lot.

9. The difference between high school classes and college classes according to James is that college classes require a lot more studying.

10. Two things James would have done differently in college is to study a bit more and get involved in more study groups.

11. James said the only requirement to get into Valencia was to fill out the form and pay the admission fee.
