1.0 Introduction of the company
1.1.1 Company's Founder and CEO
Canon Inc was founded by Takeshi Mitarai, Takeo Maeda, Saburo Uchida and Goro Yoshida. Fujio Mitarai is the current Chairman and CEO of Canon Inc. He was appointed as the President of Canon in 1979 and he resigned his position in 2010 until 2012, he returned to Canon Inc.
1.1.2 Range of Products
Canon Inc. is a Japanese multinational company which produces different types of imaging and optical products such as interchangeable lens digital cameras, printers, camcorders, calculators and others. It divides its business into three segments: Office Unit, Imaging System Unit, and Industry and Other Unit. The following diagram shows some of the examples from each segment.

1.1.3 Most Profitable Products
From Canon Annual Reports 2012, Canon Inc. most profitable products is from office unit segments such as multifunction devices (MFDs), printers and other equipment which produce high image quality, high resolution and high speed. It shows that office unit has the highest sales ratio among the three segments which is 50.5%. The following table shows the sales ratio per segment.

Canon Inc. besides having their market in Japan which its headquarters are located in Japan, but they also have international market which are North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Oceania.
