Dear Editor,
It is noted that a growing rebellious nature among teenagers. Their state of mind may be change unpredictably; it’s making parents feel like they don’t understand their children. Such a phenomenon is very common nowadays.
Youngers usually have this kind of rebellious nature which is normal. It’s a part of their development into adults. They will develop different aspect through this rebellion period. Basically, it happens at about age 16years old. However most of parents might not adapt their children’s rebellion that comes into problem.
Some young people may don’t listen to their parents, but their friends. They follow what their peer doing, that’s make it easier for them to go astray. Worsening misbehave, such as drug and alcohol abuse, smoking or join the triad society. I think parents should accept their friend, let them choose their friend freely; also need to keep an eye on it, because friends are the most influential. They can lead them into the right track or not.
Teens have their own ideas, they would like to prove themselves, they will have other views regarding their parent’s advice, they seldom accept it, think it is not suitable. Let alone parents’ request, they ignore and avoid them. They lack of responsibility. I think parents should respect and accept children’s advice, shouldn’t judge or criticize without determine. Besides, parents can give them suggestion like a friend, but not like an serious parents. Giving them freedom and power to develop their character. Let them do what they want, be the one who want to be.
