Video games are the most common entertainment in today’s society. It is undeniably addictive which leads to a bigger evolution of its existence. According to a resource online, I can define that video games are an electronic, interactive games known for their vibrant colors, sound effects, and complex graphics. With the modern technology features, people are able to create diversity of games that include many purposes. It is now widely known that it helps in providing educational purpose in an enjoyable way. This has increased interest in people worldwide especially parents who wish to educate their kids. In my point of view, I can agree that video games are useful learning tools as it helps us to gain knowledge in the most exciting ways. It helps us to be good at problem solving and creativity, have leadership skills and also build bigger interest in history and culture.
What I most believe is video games helps us to be good at problem solving and also able to generate creativity in ourselves. Games that require players to search, negotiate, plan various approaches in order to advance to a new level, and implement strategies can help improve students’ brain development. The process of understanding game rules and learning by doing it also could provide students with essential decision-making skills. Even creatively, students frequently have the option to modify and select character personalities in video games, allowing them the opportunity of self-expression. Besides that, video games also allow students to design and exchange maps or other custom content, helping us build creative and technical skills which definitely is a tremendous way of learning.
Apart from that, video games also provide a safe place for students to express their competitive urges. I can say that it can build a friendly competition. Video games offer players the chance to take turns in leading and I think it is something that can benefit students with their extra-curricular activities. In my point of view, these multi-player approaches allow students to participate in leading a team which is a valuable yet precious skill to learn for the future and negotiating rules. Furthermore, it can be seen that video games could also inspire students’ interest in history and culture. Video games such as Age of Empires, Civilization, Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty can push children to become interested and read more about different epochs in history.
