Life can come at you in many ways, the good, the bad, and the ugly, so what inspires you to be successful, or better yet, what drives you to continue? Upon reading Tim Tebow's book, Through my Eyes, you gain insight to what inspired him to succeed, have faith, and challenge himself to be the best. This directly relates to the value I hold very dearly which is to be successful and how to maintain it.

What does it mean to be successful, is successfulness measured by the number of cars you drive or the number of houses you buy, but can money really bring you happiness and success? To have money is nice; it’s great to have all those expensive cars and diamonds people crave but is that what makes you successful. Many people who try to buy success or happiness are very emotionally distressed and unhappier than people might think. According to Tim Tebow, "Success comes in a lot of ways, but it doesn't come with money and it doesn't come with fame. It comes from having a meaning in your life, doing what you love and being passionate about what you do. That's having a life of success"(Through my eyes page 120). Each person has their own view on what makes them successful. Most of the time, people state their view of how to become successful based upon another person’s idea of what it means to succeed. To be successful means being able to understand what is important to you. I remember clearly watching him on SEC network talking about the book, and it felt as if he was talking directly to me. After hearing what he had to say, I remember telling myself, “If I spend time trying to meet other people’s idea or standards of success, and ignore what I love or my own views, then I’d find myself exhausted and unhappy”. “You cannot be successful until you’ve done something that makes you happy”, as my dad would tell me; it’s not possible to be successful and unhappy with your goals and achievements.
