APA Guidelines for Test User Qualification (Turner, DeMers, Fox, & Reed, 2001) introduces some specific contexts of psychological tests application. It mentions that many employers use tests as part of the assessment process to develop work-related information and recommendations or decisions about people who work for them or are seeking employment with them. (P.1104)I wonder that whether it is valuable for the companies to increase psychological tests when recruiting graduates. In my opinion, for the company, the psychological tests can be a reference, but it can’t be the determining factor.

For enterprises, in essence, the purpose of using psychological evaluation is to recruit more suitable talents for business needs. For example, there is no doubt that a marketing representative needs a person who is outgoing, transparent and convivial because the features of marketing decide what kind of people can do. In the recruitment process, enterprises may use the psychological test as a tool for the talent selection; however, the test can’t be used as an absolute standard. That is, they have the ability of social psychological preparation and affordability. In addition, a person’s mind is always changing with the objective world and the environment change. Thus, a person who now have healthy state of mind does not mean that he or she is wholesome forever. No doubt, it is necessary for the companies to pay attention to employees’ mental health in recruitment, however, I think it is more sensible for the companies to reinforce education and monitoring of the employees’ mental health.
