Allowance
In this generation, allowance is a weekly or daily incentive given to many children by their parents. Allowance could be given just to show responsibility or to be given as a reward for completing chores and behaving properly. These key reasons for giving allowance are very unnecessary; in contrast, I think allowance should not be given. Furthermore, majority of children are very irresponsible with their decision making, and they shouldn't be rewarded for things you are supposed to do. In fact, some families aren't as financially stable to provide allowance at all and if they tried it would be very detrimental.
The lack of responsibility is one of the reasons why allowance should not granted to children. Decisions made by kids with money are not very wise, it is often wasted on pointless things. Most of the time money is spent on materialistic items, rather than things that could be beneficial to them in various ways. Saving the allowance is most definitely not a main priority when it comes to deciding what to do with their money. It probably will be blown away very quickly on things that could have been saved in a savings account. If they do save the money, it is most likely for something quite expensive, and after they do buy it, they will be out of money, looking to receive more. Money received for allowance could be put in an account for college or some other important expensive necessity.
In addition, children should not be rewarded for doing things they are supposed do because it could teach bad habits. This is teaching them to expect some type of reward every time they do something good or complete a task. Eventually, they will feel that the reward is not enough and want to increase the allowance.
